Betsy S. Hersher
Betsy Hersher is the President and founder of Hersher Associates, Ltd. Since the companyís inception, Betsy has developed and utilized a unique recruitment process that ensures success for placements. She introduced the role of the healthcare Chief Information Officer in 1985.
Her philosophy is to stay on the leading edge of trends, such as the introduction and support of the Chief Medical Information Officer, recruitment and retention issues, succession planning, corporate culture match and organizational assessment as a key part of any search assignment. She is keenly astute about organizational issues and handles her consulting assignments with a refreshing directness, honesty and sense of humor. Betsy is a nationally acclaimed speaker, author and expert on career plan development, organizational design, physician recruitment in IT and position design in healthcare. She is a strong proponent of successor roles to the CIO and is instrumental in developing and promoting roles such as the chief technology officer and chief medical information officer. Prior to founding Hersher Associates, Ltd., Betsy spent nine years at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital developing Child Life programs.
